Everyone in the family is enjoying our produce even Max, the beagle.
The garden has grown in since the last post in late April and you can compare the photos taken from the same angles 2 months later.
Here is the tally of produce harvested from April 24-June 30 from garden and approximate market cost:
Cucumbers pickling– made 4 quart jars of pickles @ $4/jar= $16
Cucumbers- Tyrolia-3 large cucumbers @ $1each= $3.
Lettuce- 46 heads of artisan lettuce @ $1.50 each= $69.
Scallion-3 bunches@ $1each= $3.
Herbs -10 bunches of parsley, thyme, sage, dill, basil, oregano $20.
Beets-3 beets $2
Bok choy- 4 lbs. @ $2/lb.= $8.
Strawberries- 1lb. $6.
Arugula- 1 lb. $3
Cut Edible Flowers- 12 bouquets @ $3 each= $36.
Snow Peas- 1 lb. @$3/lb.= $3.
TOTAL for May & June $169.
I haven’t made back my initial investment of $380 yet but it is early in the growing season here. I am definitely having fun watching everything grow!
Estimated plastic containers saved 11. (Artisan lettuce near me comes in plastic containers in the supermarket-4 per container )
